PocketSocial Technologies Inc. is a division of IGG, a global interactive digital entertainment company that specializes in the development of and operation of Mobile Games. Job Description

This senior position requires collaborating with discipline leads and managing team members to meet deadlines while observing the existing style and technical restraints. Artistic talent, experience, effective communication, and teamwork are essential components of a successful applicant. Successful candidates will be provided life insurance, extended group insurance and RRSP matching after 3-month probation.

Main job duties include the following:

  • Be responsible for the overall architecture design, development, module encapsulation, performance optimization, etc., of the online game server;
  • Formulate the communication protocols, communication data specification and data structure specifications between the game server/clients and the peripheral management tools to meet the needs of a multi-language development;
  • Be responsible for the development of communications, various key data storage, logical-flow framework and various key data & logical processing units, and complete the implementation of a system framework and core code;
  • Be responsible for the development of the tools for operation & maintenance, monitoring & control, and automated deployment of the game server back-end;
  • Be responsible for drafting the documents with detailed technical and development requirements for each function and technical point, and recording the development and interface documents;
  • Be responsible for assigning work to the server programmers and reviewing their codes;
  • Formulate the development work-plan of the Department and carry out the risk control/mitigation;
  • Be responsible for the assessment and technical correction on the technical feasibility of various design requirements proposed during planning;
  • Be responsible for effective inspection and testing of all relevant server-side contents to ensure the security of self-developed contents.

Job Requirements

The following qualifications are required for the position:

  • More than 3 years of relevant experience as a senior back-end programmer in the mobile game industry;
  • Minimum College Diploma in Computer Science is required;
  • Experience with Client/Server, Peer-to-Peer and multi-threaded architectures, and participation of at least one game-development project from the start to launching with required;
  • Good technical foundation, proficiency in server development, solid foundation in data structure and algorithm analysis, and experience in C++/Java/Go Lang software development are required;
  • Proficiency in SQL language, familiar with mainstream databases, MySQL, MongoDB, with tuning experience is required;
  • A love of game development and a willingness to devote yourself to technical project leadership is required.
