Duties:
- Thompson Rivers University (TRU) is a comprehensive institution with a focus on students, boasting over 45 years of excellence in post-secondary education and training.
- TRU's main campus is situated in Kamloops, BC, just a 4-hour drive from Vancouver and a 50-minute drive from Sun Peaks, the second-largest ski area in Canada, in the southern BC interior. Kamloops offers abundant tourism and recreation opportunities, along with a vibrant cultural and economic scene, and enjoys over 2,000 hours of sunshine annually.
- The Department of Engineering at TRU has recently introduced the BEng Software Engineering program and is looking to fill one (01) Tenure-Track Position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor/Associate Teaching Professor starting August 01, 2024.
Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate should hold a PhD in Software Engineering or a related discipline from a recognized university, with teaching and research experience focused on core areas of Software Engineering.
- Additionally, the candidate must have an undergraduate degree in an engineering discipline from a recognized university.
- Proficiency in teaching courses such as Real-time System Design, Cloud Computing Programming, Software Engineering Design, Software Engineering for Game Development, Safety Critical Systems, and Computer Architecture is expected.
- The department actively supports the Women in Engineering 30 by 30 initiative and encourages female applicants to apply.
- Preference will be given to candidates holding a valid Full Professional Engineer license from any professional engineers’ associations within Canadian jurisdiction. The current professional engineer license status must be included in the candidate's CV. Successful candidates are required to become registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of the Province of British Columbia within the first three years of their appointment.
- Demonstrated knowledge or familiarity with the CEAB (Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board) accreditation process is considered an asset.
