Are you a risk management leader seeking a new challenge? Our client is on a mission to revolutionize the payments industry and are looking for our first Director of Credit Risk to join our rapidly scaling team. As our Credit Risk Leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the strategy that underpins our cutting-edge payment processing platform. This role reports directly to the CEO and will have a massive impact on across the organization.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Driving innovation in risk management by anticipating and proactively addressing credit risk challenges.
- Designing and executing mitigation strategies, including underwriting procedures, onboarding processes, and chargeback management.
- Leveraging data-driven insights to track and monitor credit risk exposure, proactively identifying changes in risk indicators.
- Collaborating with operational teams to ensure seamless integration of credit risk management processes.
- Leading and inspiring a high-performing team of credit risk professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
- Curating a broad financial perspective and relating it back to our risk mitigation operations.
- Taking a human-centric approach to help solve problems for our customers, who are typically small and medium-sized business owners.
- Building processes from scratch in a fast-paced environment.

What You've Done:
- Developed and implemented comprehensive credit risk assessment frameworks to identify, evaluate, and prioritize risks.
- Led strategic initiatives to drive forward-thinking credit risk strategies, staying ahead of industry best practices and emerging technologies.
- Leveraged data analytics and predictive modeling to optimize credit strategies, including underwriting and customer management.
- Collaborated with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate credit risk management processes into day-to-day operations.
- Mentored and led high-performing teams, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Stayed informed about evolving regulatory requirements and industry standards related to credit risk management.
- Served as an advisor on credit risk, effectively communicating risk strategies, findings, and actions to executive leadership and stakeholders.

Tech Stack You'll Be Working With:
- Proficiency in SQL and data analytics tools.
- Experience developing underwriting models based on complex risk factors.
- Familiarity with predictive modeling considered an asset

Must Have Skills:

• 5+ years of relevant experience in credit risk management, lending, or fraud management.
• Proven experience in credit risk management, bonus if it was with a financial institution.
• Strong strategic thinking abilities, with the capacity to anticipate and proactively address credit risk challenges.
• Previous experience developing underwriting models based on complex risk factors.
• Experience with predictive modeling is considered an asset.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve ambitious goals.
• Data analytical skills, proficiency in SQL is nice to have.
