Airswift is working with one of our major Oil and Gas clients to find an SCM Specialist to join their team on a 1-year contract in Calgary.

The SCM Contracts Specialist (contractor) will provide support for the company's Projects in executing and organizing the organization’s supply chain management processes and activities following company procedures. This individual will be responsible for developing SCM strategies and plans associated with various projects ranging from small to large capital investments and execute these plans using effective sourcing of materials, equipment and services.

Responsibilities:

  • Where applicable, create contracting strategies for contract packages, both for negotiation and competitive approaches
  • Create, issue, evaluate and award RFx and Purchase Orders with stakeholders when required in support of capital projects.
  • Execute contract formation and administration including facilitating changes and close out process of all necessary services and materials for the projects in its portfolio.
  • Coordinate SCM requirements with different members of the SCM team including Materials Management and other supporting team members
  • Support and participate in strategic projects and ad-hoc analysis.
  • Maintains SCM document repository, and performs ongoing lifecycle management for Supply Chain process documents.
  • Foster a positive team environment by sharing information and learnings with both the Project SCM team and other teams within the SCM department
  • Maintain purchase order and contract files, ensuring that appropriate documentation is available and audit requirements are upheld.
  • Complete other project requirements such as reporting and supporting other stakeholder groups to ensure successful projects
  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders based on trust and delivering on commitments.
  • Working collaboratively, assist in the development and implementation of end-to-end Supply Chain processes, procedures, and standards.
  • Research and respond in a timely and professional manner to answer questions from end users and stakeholders concerning Supply Chain processes.
  • Assist in the development of training, change management, and communication-related to process and documentation changes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the SCM function by providing creative solutions and opportunities such as different strategies and process optimization
  • Steward the SCM Governance including communication and training, adherence, and staying informed of changes

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline, with preference for a major in Supply Chain Management.
  • Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation through Supply Chain Canada and/or Certified Purchasing Manager through ISM (Institute for Supply Management) is not required but would be considered an asset.
  • 10 years of Supply Chain Management experience in heavy industry (energy, mining, processing, etc). Oil & gas is an asset.
  • Demonstrated commitment and passion for Supply Chain and the value it can drive.
  • Progressive experience with relevant supply chain management activities including contract formation and management for complex services.
  • Experience with the application of mature, best practices in contracting and procurement, tools, processes an asset
  • Strong organization, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to take initiative, exercise sound judgment, influence decision making and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and proven ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and multi-task.
  • Strong PC skills, proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel). Experience with Maximo or other supply chain computer systems is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated ability to perform successfully in a team environment with a creative, open-minded approach.
