Job Description

The Product Director will support the AVP, Global Digital Acceleration in representing the voice of the business and voice of the customer by driving global capability maturity in close partnership with Manulife segment team members such as Product Managers. This role contributes to the realization of global strategy, vision, and OKRs by aligning and prioritizing business goals with actionable results.

Key Accountabilities:

Voice of the Business, Customer, and End-User

  • Supports the Product Owner in representing the voice of the business and voice of the customer within the squad to ensure business and end-user satisfaction.
  • Maintains a good understanding of business, customer, and end-user problems, needs, and preferences.
  • Maintains a good understanding of relevant personas and customer journeys in order to advocate for the ideal experience.
  • Understands industry, competitive and general business trends to enable strategic planning and delivery of outcomes in alignment with segment priorities.
  • Ensures the voice of the customer/collaborator is prominent and accurate in the definition of user stories.

Value Management

  • Drives the strategy, planning and delivery of key capabilities aligned to the customer journey that is common across products & markets.
  • Works with team members to define hypotheses, run experiments (surveys, concept testing, analytics tools, A/B testing), and analyze data to make decisions on user stories that influence the direction of delivery.
  • Strives to bring alignment between data, technology and business team members.
  • Good understanding of technology products & solutions and/or curiosity towards architecture, technical design, data and analytics.
  • Willingness to learn and adopt emerging value generators such as GenAI.

Alignment & Communication

  • Strong ability to communicate to senior management through concise, compelling storytelling rooted in data and standard process research.
  • Collaboration with partners in segments.
  • Specify and effectively communicate desired outcomes for current and future capabilities.
  • Reviews and contributes to the value stream roadmap.
  • Drafts the squad’s specific objectives and key results (OKRs) in alignment with those of the value stream.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience as a Product Director or Senior Product Owner.
  • Stakeholder management and communication skills in defining outcomes, communicating progress, and facilitating planning meetings.
  • Good level of knowledge and understanding of area of practice.
  • Good knowledge of the business.
  • Good knowledge of digital enterprise enablement technologies and practices.
  • Excellent analytical skills, copes with complex situations through deliberate analysis and planning.
  • Experience in Financial Services/Insurance is an asset.
  • Data, NPS and customer analytics experience is an asset.

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location: Toronto, Ontario

Salary range is expected to be between $103,050.00 CAD - $185,490.00 CAD.
