Rehabilitation specialist – Kinesiologist or other - 100% remote

This is the job for you We are currently looking for a Rehabilitation specialist, Kinesiologist, or other for one of our clients in the insurance industry.

Responsibilities:
• Develop, monitor, and implement innovative and goal-oriented vocational rehabilitation strategies for claimants in receipt of disability benefits.
• Contribute to the overall profitability of Group Disability by facilitating more timely return to work for claimants.
• Work with Policyholders to develop creative return-to-work solutions.
• Manage budgets effectively.
• Provide effective communication to policyholders, members, and various medical professionals, often delivering complex and/or difficult messages.
• Manage vendors to ensure the most effective and efficient treatments are available to our claimants.

What you will need to succeed:
• Related university degree (preference for education in Health Sciences).
• 3-5 years of extensive functional rehabilitation experience or several years of active rehabilitation experience.
• Must be located in Nova Scotia for the role.
• Registered Rehabilitation Professional (RRP) or Registered Kinesiologist (RKin).
• Sound knowledge of Rehabilitation Industry Standards, Disability Insurance, medical terminology, and Disability and Rehabilitation management best practices.
• Experience in managing budgets in a professional setting.
• Completion of related Insurance Industry courses would be an asset.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, OneDrive, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and car for travel to various locations on occasion.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively, especially when dealing with large and complex caseloads.
• Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills.
• Ability to independently make difficult decisions that may significantly impact claimants and the business.
• Proven problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a cohesive team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Demonstrated ability to think creatively to find solutions to rehabilitation problems.
• Genuine interest in helping others make a gainful return to employment.
