We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing 3D models, creating detailed drawings, and using CAD software. The candidate will need to be able to work independently, ensuring their work is completed with a degree of accuracy. The successful candidate will be able to interpret customer specifications and develop designs that meet the customer's needs. We are looking for a creative problem solver who is able to work independently and efficiently to create high-quality designs.

Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility of this position involves processing production orders, designing custom and special equipment, optimizing and updating standard products.
  • Prepare production packages including mechanical and electrical drawings, Bill of Materials, purchase requisitions and other quality control documents.

· Integrate creative and innovative ideas into the design of our equipment while adhering to applicable standards and regulations.

· Completing sales and approval drawings for customers as well as processing of custom product estimates.

· Work to gather technical information to create configurable drawing for custom orders.

· Analyzes engineering sketches, specifications, and related data and drawings to determine design factors such as size, shape, and arrangement of parts.

· Troubleshoots and modifies designs, recommends corrective actions as required.

· Maintain ERP and other programs as required.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Design or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as mechanical designer or CAD technician in manufacturing industry.

· Advanced knowledge and experience related to Hydraulic and Electrical technical design.

  • Advanced knowledge of CAD (AutoCAD Mechanical, and SolidWorks Software).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office. Including Excel and Access.
  • Knowledge and experience of MS NAV ERP would be a great asset.
  • Knowledge of use of Adobe InDesign would be an asset.

· Attention to detail to create accurate and detailed drawings and check other colleagues' work for accuracy and quality

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of teamwork - essential to be able to work in a team as you'll be liaising with other CAD technicians and participants on projects
  • Organization and time management to complete work to meet project deadlines

· A flexible approach to decision making, to make changes to drawings at short notice

· Communication skills and relationship building to work with clients and other engineers and architects to understand and interpret their designs

· Spatial and design skills to be able to visualize projects in 2D and 3D

  • Problem solving, creativity and innovation in order to come up with solutions to design problems.
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements in order to design in line with industry standards.
