Basic Purpose:

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for providing a monthly financial statement package to shareholders on a regular time basis and assist in financial business strategy decisions.

Major Responsibilities and Duties (to fulfill major purpose):

1.      Review of monthly transactions

2.      Preparation of monthly financial statements, review and analysis of income statement, variances analysis, balance sheet reconciliations

3.      Preparation of journal entries

4.      Preparation of month end reporting package for shareholders

5.      Calculation of month end commission accrual

6.      Month end close

7.      Preparation of year end audit file for review

8.      Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.

9.      Maintains financial security by following internal controls.

10.   Responsible for ensuring proper accounting system controls are in place and followed

11.   Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.

12.   Complies with federal, provincial, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.

13.   Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.

14.   Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

15.   Liaison with Operations project managers

16.   Participate in meetings with operations managers

17.   Work on special projects as needed

18.   Keep CFO and CEO informed on a regular basis.

Experience, Training and Education (demonstrating requirements):

  • CPA designation
  • A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics
  • 3+ years related experience
