ENGINEERING PROJECT TECHNICIAN – ENGINEERING LAB

We are currently seeking a Project Technician in Montreal. This position will be part of our Engineering team reporting directly to our Engineering Laboratory Manager. This candidate will be an important member of our team and will manage testing, documentation, and will support various Engineering projects from start to finish. RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Assist the new Product Development projects through Stage Gate Process from concept to mass production
  2. Perform research, analysis and documentation of mechanical, electronics & electromechanics components
  3. Develop, execute and transfer tests protocols to the product tests and validation teams;
  4. Participate in the development and validation of new products, components and test benchmarking
  5. Use electronic measurement equipment (ex: Oscilloscope, Communication, Multimeter…)
  6. Generate test reports in English
  7. Design basic prototypes schematic and electrical wiring diagrams
  8. Participate in product design review for integration of electronic technologies projects
  9. Work with the team to scrutinize all technical data/testing analysis and results with the end consumer in mind – identifying overall risks and developing countermeasures to mitigate these risks while maintaining the intent of the project/product
  10. Help conduct quality investigations and make recommendations for solutions and improvements to product and processes
  11. Assist with departmental administrative tasks and follow up as needed to stay on track and remain accountable for objectives
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Bilingual French/ English (written and spoken)
  2. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Engineering and Research and Development environment
  3. Technician graduate diploma in electronic or mechanical or equivalent
  4. Experience in electronic PCBA integration within end products
  5. General knowledge in Simultaneous (concurrent) Engineering approach and PDP (Product Development process) a plus
  6. Knowledge of CAD design tools (3D, 2D, PCB and Gerber) a plus
  7. Knowledge in Kitchen appliances products a plus
  8. Experiences in a manufacturing environment a plus
  9. Prior experience working with retailers and/or consumer goods a plus
  10. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio,)
  11. Knowledge of LabView software a plus
