Estimator

Direct hire career opportunity. Offer of employment coming from the Hiring Employer. Full time – steady days (7:00 a.m – 3:30 p.m). Some overtime required on Saturdays.

The Estimator will be responsible for analyzing project specifications and blueprints, preparing accurate cost estimates, and collaborating with project managers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing estimating and project management.

1. Review project specifications, drawings, and blueprints to understand scope of work.
2. Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.
3. Collaborate with project managers to develop project schedules and budgets.
4. Identify potential risks and opportunities for cost savings.
5. Work closely with procurement / purchasing department.
6. Prepare bid packages and submit proposals to clients.
7. Track project costs and provide regular updates to project team.
8. Assist in value engineering efforts to optimize project costs.

• Post secondary education in similar or related field
• Proven experience as an Estimator in the manufacturing industry
• Strong knowledge of estimating principles and techniques
• Proficiency in using estimating software (in-house ERP system) & MS Excel
• Familiarity with project management software (MS Project)
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Must be open to a fast-paced environment
