Job SummaryWe are seeking a Safety Engineer to join the This Company Loss Prevention organization (LP), which is the corporate safety organization within This Company. We provide both day-to-day in-field occupational and process safety support to This Company operations, as well as a centralized technical support and consulting function. Our field offices are located in:
- Abqaiq
- Riyadh
- Ras Tanura
- Dhahran
- Udhailiyah
- Jeddah (including Yanbu and Jazan)
- Tanajib
Through these offices, LP provides its services to all This Company facilities and departments located throughout the Kingdom.
Your primary role as a Safety Engineer (Loss Prevention Engineer) is to provide daily support to company facilities and departments, helping them effectively implement the This Company Safety Management System (Occupational & Process Safety) expectations and associated programs, as well as assuring compliance with all company safety requirements.
Responsibilities:- Facilitating the implementation of the This Company Safety Management System along with its objectives and expectations by developing associated safety processes and participating in self-assessments.
- Conducting field inspections and reviews to evaluate compliance with company and international codes and standards, identifying safety concerns, and formulating practical and cost-effective corrective actions.
- Identifying, evaluating, recommending actions, and following up on critical safety tasks and control methodologies related to operational safety practices such as work at height, isolation/LOTO, permit to work, hydrogen sulfide, confined space entry, and excavations.
- Participating in safety studies and activities utilizing risk assessment and mitigation methodologies including PHAs, HAZOPs, JSAs, incident investigations, compliance reviews, and insurance surveys.
- Responding to emergency situations and incidents, providing technical assistance and advice during or after regular working hours.
- Participating in worksite contractor safety management activities including contractor selection and prequalification, monitoring work site compliance, and measuring performance.
- Supporting the reporting, classification, and investigation of all incidents, participating in incident investigations to determine root causes and making proper recommendations to prevent recurrence.
- Delivering Loss Prevention-specific training to employees, contractors, and outside parties.
- Mentoring other Loss Prevention personnel.
This role requires the candidate to permanently relocate to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
Hold a BA/BS degree from an Accredited Institution along with 7 years of experience in areas such as operations and maintenance, plant engineering, construction, turnaround and inspection, safety program development, process safety, and audits/assessments within the oil and gas, petrochemicals, or related industries. Alternatively, possess 15 years of relevant industry experience in the oil and gas, petrochemicals, or related industries with a strong track record of delivering results in the aforementioned areas without a degree.
Excellent communication skills in English, capable of effectively communicating with peers and management.
Ability to produce clear and concise oral and written reports in English.
