POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing general Booth cleaning for facility equipment and property structures, in addition to performing grounds maintenance and assisting other techs with repairs/maintenance work.

Essential functions:

  • Maintains and repairs all Carfair equipment and maintenance shop equipment.
  • Maintains and updates the maintenance log.
  • Performs installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of both new and existing machinery, equipment, and systems.
  • Ensures equipment, machinery, and hand/power tools are clean, lubricated, and undergo routine maintenance.
  • Proficiently operates hand tools and power tools for equipment/machinery assembly and repairs. Demonstrates excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Keeps track of maintenance supplies and equipment usage and inventory.
  • Skillfully operates hoisting and lifting devices like cranes, jacks, and forklifts to position machinery and parts during installation, set-up, and repair.
  • Efficiently performs all preventative maintenance tasks pertaining to buildings and equipment.
  • Refers to manuals, blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Makes valuable recommendations for enhancing plant operations and efficiency.
  • Effectively communicates with supervisors and operations departments to coordinate ongoing maintenance and repair work in process areas.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of work area and equipment in compliance with the 5S standards.
  • Handles general plumbing maintenance and repairs.
  • Conducts routine checks and preventative maintenance on Air-Makeup and Exhaust equipment.
  • Performs general maintenance tasks and maintains comprehensive maintenance records for all equipment and vehicles.
  • Operates forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and bobcats safely and promptly as required for the job.
  • Adheres to health and safety policies and procedures.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years maintenance work experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
  • Degree or certificate from a 2- year college or technical school in lieu of experience
  • Industrial Mechanic Certification will be considered an asset.
  • Preventive maintenance and repair skills
  • Flexibility with schedule
  • The ability to work effectively with other members of the facility team
  • The ability to work without constant supervision
  • The ability to creatively problem-solve
  • Good Verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic math skills
