Role overview

We are seeking a skilled WebSphere Administrator to join our team. As a WebSphere Administrator, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining IBM WebSphere Application Server environments. You will ensure the availability and performance of the applications and provide support to the development and testing teams. Additionally, you will troubleshoot and resolve issues, monitor system health, and implement security measures.

What you’ll do
  • Design and develop eCommerce applications in collaboration with development teams.
  • Serve as a core member of an engineering team supporting middleware and applications.
  • Provide lead support and direction for infrastructure maintenance, high availability, performance tuning, and application resiliency.
  • Identify innovative ideas and conduct proof of concepts.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot WebSphere MQ.
  • Build MQ objects across multiple platforms.
  • Support development environments during application development.
  • Build production systems and provide support through release.
  • Document production support processes.
What you bring to the role
  • Relevant education, such as a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Education, Technical, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Information Technology, Business, Administration, Computer, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Desired certifications: SSL, IBM, MCSE, MCSA, MSC, ITIL, RACDCERT, AWS, SAN.
  • Skills: Apache HTTP Server, Apache TomCat, DMZs, Enclaves, Firewalls, Oracle Application Server, problem and change management, web browsers etc.
  • Experience: Good working knowledge of WebSphere/HTTP load balancing, WebSphere Clustering, IHS/APACHE, TomCat, and NetScaler.
Working arrangements

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a Hybrid position requiring 2 or 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto, ON. Canada.
