LeverageTek is actively seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer for a permanent position with its Ottawa-based customer.

Work Location

The successful candidate will be required to work on-site occasionally at the customer headquarters in Ottawa, ON.

Security Requirement

Must be eligible for a Government of Canada Secret Level II Clearance.

Key Tasks

  1. Design scalable cloud architectures leveraging infrastructure-as-code and robust disaster recovery practices.
  2. Automate and streamline infrastructure tasks using programming (Python, Bash, etc.), IaC tools (Terraform preferred), and CI/CD pipelines.
  3. Proactively enhance monitoring, optimize performance, implement logging/alerting, and lead cost-saving initiatives.
  4. Strategize and execute the migration of on-premises systems to the cloud.
  5. Partner with development and security teams to ensure cloud infrastructure aligns with organizational goals.
  6. Provide infrastructure-related support to various stakeholders, and contribute to documentation.
  7. Participation in on-call support, overtime, and infrequent travel outside of the Ottawa area will be required.

Key Qualifications

  1. Knowledge and production experience in designing, deploying and administering GCP (Azure or AWS considered) cloud applications (GCE, EC2, IAM, VPC, GCS, EFS, GKE, EKS).
  2. Experience working with configuration management tools (Terraform preferred).
  3. Experience with Kubernetes and Containerization.

Qualifications

  1. Knowledge and experience with CI/CD, DevOps principles and workflow automation.
  2. Experience writing code to create automated solutions (for example: HCL, Bash, Ruby, Python, Javascript, Powershell).
  3. Knowledge of software version control, automated deployment, orchestration (Google Cloud Repository, Ansible, Argo CD, GitHub, Jenkins).
  4. Experience in technical activities related to infrastructure design and operations, preferably in a cloud centric environment.
  5. Experience in creating, executing, debugging, and maintaining automation scripts to reduce or eliminate manual repetitive tasks.
