JOB SUMMARY

A Meat Cutter will be primarily responsible to cut, trim, and prepare meat, utilizing various tools, including the meat saw. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for receiving and fulfilling custom orders, and maintaining the cleanliness and sterilization of knives and other equipment.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Daily Order Cutting and Prep: Daily cutting trimming and preparing meat products based on customer orders. Ensure that all cuts and portions meet quality and accuracy standards
  • Accurate Cutting and Measuring: Utilize expert cutting skills to accurately portion and measure meat products according to specific weight and size requirements. Maintain consistency in cuts to uphold product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Bandsaw Cutting: Proficiently operate the bandsaw to make precise cuts through various meat products, adhering to safety guidelines and maintaining optimal machine performance.
  • Pulling Products Needed for the Day: Collaborate with production planning to identify and retrieve the necessary meat products, ingredients, and supplies required for the day's production
  • Food Safety and Hygiene: Uphold the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation by consistently cleaning work areas, tools, and equipment. Adhere to food safety protocols and guidelines to prevent contamination
  • Collaboration with Packing and Warehouse Teams: Collaborate closely with the packing and warehouse teams to prioritize and coordinate the 'just in time' order tickets
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance procedures by conducting visual inspections of the meat products for freshness and appearance. Report any deviations or concerns to supervisors to ensure consistent product quality
  • Adherence to Company Policies: Uphold all company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Be prepared to assist in various tasks and adapt to changes in production demands as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a strong work ethic

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a meat cutter or similar role within the food industry is required.
  • Strong knowledge of various meat cuts and processing techniques.
  • Ability to operate meat cutting equipment, including the band saw, safely and effectively.
  • Basic math skills to accurately measure and portion meat products.\
  • Attention to detail and precision in cutting and trimming to maintain product consistency.
  • Ability to lift heavy loads and stand for extended periods during the workday.
  • Must be comfortable working inside freezer and cooler for a prolonged period of time
  • Excellent hygiene and sanitation practices to ensure food safety and prevent cross-contamination.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
