  • Responsible for overseeing OH&S program in liaison with the Feed Mill Manager. This will include regular safety discussions with employees.
  • Develop and maintain SOPS for all Mill operations and train employees as required.
  • Maintain maximum production efficiency through the effective use of staff and well-maintained equipment.
  • Direct and plan work through the completion of staffing, production and trucking schedules to ensure customer orders are produced and delivered in a timely and efficient matter.
  • Ensure that there are sufficient supplies, ingredients and medications in stock (excluding grain) to meet production requirements.
  • Coordinate maintenance staff activities to meet operational and preventative maintenance program requirements.
  • Responsible for ensuring all feed manufactured is done in accordance with HACCP procedures and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure all plant rules and regulations are followed by staff and contractors.
  • Provide employee training and ensure employees are cross trained in a variety of areas.
  • Effectively manage work performance.
  • Assist in planning and managing Feed Mill projects.
  • Verify employee time records.
  • Substitute for plant workers in the event of an emergency.
  • Perform other related duties as instructed by the Feed Division Manager.
  • Coordinate and direct employees in the warehouse and mill.
  • Handle production scheduling, paperwork, and communications in the office.
  • Occasionally travel to Long Pond and the Processing Plant.
