Role overview

Cognizant is growing its capabilities and looking for a Senior DevOps engineer who is responsible for developing, deploying, and maintaining software applications and infrastructure using various tools and methodologies.

What you’ll do
  1. Design, develop, and maintain the CI/CD pipeline for Docker / Kubernetes-based applications on Azure.
  2. Collaborate with development teams to understand application requirements and implement automated build, test, and deployment processes.
  3. Implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practices using tools like Azure CloudFormation or Terraform to define and handle Kubernetes infrastructure.
  4. Supervise and improve CI/CD pipeline performance, reliability, and security.
  5. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the CI/CD pipeline, build failures, deployment errors, etc.
  6. Strive for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipeline (CI/CD Pipeline).
  7. Encourage and build automated processes wherever possible.
  8. Demonstrate excellent troubleshooting knowledge in a DevOps environment.
What you bring to the role
  1. Proven ability of 7-10 years in software development, deployment, and operations.
  2. Excellent troubleshooting knowledge in a DevOps environment.
  3. Web Server Knowledge – Apache Tomcat management and applying security best practices.
  4. Good hands-on experience in Linux/Windows operating systems.
  5. Knowledge of Azure DevOps server, handling code, pipelines, and releases in it.
  6. Good knowledge of Git.
  7. Configuration and leading SQL Server DB.
  8. Good knowledge in scripting languages like shell and Python.
  9. Knowledge in Ansible would be an added advantage.
