Job Description: TD Engineering Operations is home to a team of highly valued professionals recognized for both their customer-service mindsets and dedication to seamless 24-7 running of our infrastructure technologies. They also manage what we call the implementation and delivery life cycle for IT components across the various technology groups. Component installation, maintenance and decommissioning, system performance, capacity and availability, migration, emerging technology assessment, implementation, release management and deployment support.
We are looking for someone with diverse skills and some background in this space to carry out a broad range of operational service and support assignments. You'll work under minimal supervision on data center management, maintenance, installs and decommissioning, performance, and incident management, as well as technical support activities. This position requires travel to Scarborough, Barrie and Toronto as needed. Overtime and weekend hours are required.
Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic technology initiatives, build, and maintain key elements of the firm’s enterprise infrastructure and associated project portfolio.
- Provide leadership for delivery of 24/7 service operations and KPI compliance and audit.
- Manage remote sites as well as schedule/monitor work performed by third party vendors.
- Business Continuity Plan Management, assuring our BCP documentation is current and approved by management.
- Attend meetings to capture business requirements for DC Capacity planning and workflow management.
- Support applications and systems by meeting or exceeding standards and service levels while minimizing operational risk.
- Promptly schedule equipment installs and cabling requests, engage partners, plan parallel work streams when possible.
- Partner closely with stakeholders to improve production environment stability.
- Leads the support of Data Center infrastructure.
- Research industry standards, best practices and new innovations in technology and make recommendations.
- Provide quality service and solutions consistent with objectives and client requirements.
Job Requirements:
- Extensive knowledge with vendor management, data center operations, documenting and writing processes.
- Strong financial management skills in budgeting, forecasting and cost control.
- Ability to see the “big picture” across private and public cloud hosted infrastructure and services.
- Functional understanding of project management principles and their application to infrastructure projects and teams.
- Demonstrated ability to apply technology solutions to business problems and work with teams globally.
- Ability to work independently in a senior/lead role on a diverse range of tasks.
- Working knowledge of Service Now and Microsoft products.
- 5-10 years of data center management experience with IT hardware, databases, and Ethernet cable infrastructure.
