Location: Hybride mode - 3days/week onsite, Greater Toronto area

Description: Staff members are required to return to the office, the resource under this request will be required to work onsite as well.

The selected candidate will be competitively procured for the role of Sr. Project Manager to lead project teams and assumes day-to-day coordination, planning, management, and control of projects under the Digital Identity program.

The Sr. PM will be responsible for developing and maintaining key project documents including the project charter, the integrated project plan (including specific project scope, time, cost, quality, HR, risk, procurement, and communications plans) and executing the project in accordance with the established baseline, responding and managing issues. The resource will also be required to provide project executives with regular status and progress reports and maybe responsible for project staffing, budgeting, scheduling and monitoring.

The Sr. Project Manager will support the management of the DI program consisting of a wide array of projects and initiatives related to the program. The Sr. Project Manager will support the successful delivery of projects and initiatives to meet strategic program objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Provides project management on large scale, complex, high profile and risk projects
  • Ensures project deliverables meet clients’ business requirements on time, scope and budget, with a focus on cost-effectiveness, efficiencies and compliance with project management methodologies and frameworks.
  • Gathers and develops requirements to create and maintain a detailed project schedule and/or integrated plan.
  • Ability to monitor and forecast project costs and provide reporting and input to ensure targets are met
  • Experience developing and managing project schedules, deliverables, and scope
  • Ability to promote I&IT project management best practices and adherence to standard methodologies
  • Extensive experience coordinating and monitoring project processes, and developing/communicating guidelines and procedures
  • Effectively manages large project budgets and ensures a high level of fiscal control and accountability including estimates, forecasts, and reconciliation/confirmation of actuals.
  • Proactively identifies potential risk events and issues before they occur so that proper mitigating strategies can be developed.
  • Articulates and prioritizes issues and risks at senior executive levels and recommends mitigation strategies for decision makers.
  • Establishes and participates in steering committee and stakeholder forums
  • Provides, project, program, and/or portfolio reporting to multi-stakeholders at senior executive levels.
  • Uses appropriate strategies and actions to overcome resistance to change and capitalize on forces in support of change during all stages of projects - concept, definition, planning, implementation and close-out.

Mandatory Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with project management on large scale, complex, high profile and high risk projects.
  • Experience managing and coordinating project activities and teams, including troubleshooting and resolving issues, providing leadership and ensuring project effectiveness.
  • Experience handling client relationships, managing expectations, providing updates as required, identifies potential conflicts between project and functional areas.
  • Experience with project reporting and supporting tools including knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Project Server.
  • Experience working in health sector and/or government and asset.
