We source and processes recycled ferrous and non-ferrous metals across North America to ensure they do not end up in a landfill or go to waste. Our recycling stream ensures that all the ferrous and non-ferrous metals that enter our yards will create something new again

Job Summary:

As CMI continues to grow, we are looking for passionate people to join our team. We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Dispatch/Planner for our Fleet and Transportation team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan efficient daily truck routes, maximize truck utilization, and schedule same-day routes based on customer requirements
  • Monitor and update real-time pick-up requests and review previous schedules to address any issues or concerns
  • Respond to phone and email requests and queries in a timely manner
  • Monitor customer cameras and schedule pick-ups accordingly
  • Follow driver runs and address any concerns or issues that arise
  • Liaise with traders regarding customer concerns and resolve
  • Complete daily transportation and fleet checklists
  • Liaise with drivers regarding any accidents and take appropriate action
  • Review driver logs/inspection reports for any items or concerns that may require repair
  • Ensure all tasks are completed in a safe manner in compliance with regulatory, legislative guidelines and company health and safety policies and procedures
Qualifications:
  • High School Graduate
  • Post-secondary education in Logistics/Operations is an asset
  • 5+ years of experience in dispatching/planning role is preferred
  • Previous experience as a dispatcher is an asset
  • Knowledge of WHMIS, Spill Response and Environmental and Quality Policy is an asset.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other related software
  • Ability to perform simple arithmetic computations required to calculate weights/deductions
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Ability to work well under pressure
