North Burlington Baptist Church (NBBC), located in the Tansley Area of Burlington ON, believes that as a group of neighbours, we join God on His mission of restoring people and creation. The mission of our church is to be REAL reflections of Jesus. His way is the truth for living and brings peace, joy and hope in healing our past, living in the present and into our future. NBBC is currently searching for a Worship Arts and Congregation Engagement Director. In this role, the Director will oversee and provide leadership to our Worship Arts Ministry by developing and mentoring musicians, leading a worship team, and coordinating the Worship Team schedule. They will also play a role in providing oversight and development of volunteers at NBBC.

Job Details:
Location: North Burlington Baptist Church, 1377 Walkers Line, Burlington, ON

Position Type: Part-time Permanent, 20 hours per week

Benefits: Enrollment in NBBC’s benefits program, including health, dental, and wellness benefits, and enrollment in our pension plan with a 6% match on contributions, Employee Assistance Program (EFAP).

Status: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada; NBBC is not in the position to support a work permit process for any applicant outside of Canada.

Job Duties:

  1. Develop and mentor musicians and potential worship leaders
  2. Coordinate schedule for worship teams
  3. Work closely with Sr. Minister in weekly service planning
  4. Lead / play on a worship team at least one Sunday every month
  5. Oversee the weekly worship service
  6. Keep up to date on the latest worship songs and trends
  7. Provide oversight of volunteerism and its development at NBBC
  8. Help in the development of small groups
  9. Participate in weekly staff meetings
  10. Serve as a member of the preaching team
  11. Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  1. Credential or willing to be credentialed with the CBOQ.
  2. Able to lead congregational worship.
  3. Theological education is an asset.
  4. Relevant experience in worship arts.
  5. A passion for both worship and spiritual formation and a desire to engage people in the broader ministry of the church.
  6. Must be able to work well in teams (both paid and volunteer) and desire to see others equipped for ministry.
  7. Good organizational skills would be required for effective scheduling of teams and organizing of ministry details.
  8. Effective communication and administrative skills.
  9. Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  10. The successful candidate will agree to the statement of faith, doctrinal values, and lifestyles document.
  11. A police and vulnerable sector check will be required.
