ABOUT THE JOB:

As a Big Data Cloud Expert, you'll join a global central team spanning Montréal and Paris, responsible for our Data Lake platform on Microsoft Azure. Within this team, you'll serve as the primary contact for the AMER region, supporting teams across various business lines.

Our Data Lake platform harnesses a blend of Open-Source technologies like Spark and Kafka, in addition to Azure-specific tools such as Azure Storage, HDI, AKS, and more. This platform is designed for self-service, prioritizing automation to ensure security compliance in our regulated environment while maintaining stability for crucial business operations.

Your role encompasses contributions to platform design, implementation, and ongoing production support. Additionally, you'll lend your expertise to projects integrating with the platform. In this context, your proficiency in both Big Data and Azure technologies, coupled with a strong grasp of performance and security principles, are pivotal.


TECHNICAL STACK

WHAT WILL BE YOUR DAY-TO-DAY?

Your role involves overseeing various missions:

  • Identify future needs and improvements, designing solutions for validation with the team.
  • Test and evaluate new Azure technologies, collaborating with the security and Microsoft teams to ensure availability in our secure environment.
  • Contribute to the solution's implementation, establishing automation and monitoring for a stable self-service offering.
  • Provide training to team members and offer guidance to other teams in implementing their Big Data projects.
  • Participate in production support, including overtime when required, and communicate incidents with our AMER users.
  • This role covers a broad spectrum of responsibilities, offering a valuable opportunity for continuous learning and growth.


Profile

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Must Have:

  • You have 7+ years of development and architecture experience with Java, building multi-threaded applications, APIs, and services in an Agile environment.
  • You have good experience utilizing Big Data technologies, such as Hadoop, Kafka and/or Apache Oozie.
  • You have good experience on Microsoft Azure cloud technologies, such as Azure Storage or AKS.
  • You have good experience using Apache Spark.
  • You have good experience on Linux bash scripting.
  • You have 2+ years of experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery using modern DevOps tools and workflows such as git, GitHub, Jira, Docker, and Jenkins.
  • You have 3+ years of experience with agile development (Scrum, Kanban, etc) Test Automation (behavior, unit, integration testing).
  • You have previous experience with Oracle SQL or PostgreSQL or similar RDBMS background.

Nice to Have:

You have good working knowledge of the following:

  • Teraform
  • PowerShell
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, DEC, or equivalent technical Certifications
  • Languages: French and English are required.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
