What you will do
  1. Under minimal supervision, conducts preventive maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning and general servicing of systems (including detailed troubleshooting of systems).
  2. Responsible for high levels of customer satisfaction through direct, on site, customer interface.
  3. With a high level of complete technical competence, mentors control technicians, service technician and mechanical technicians on building automation activities.
  4. Properly completes required project and service documentation.
How you will do it
  1. Diagnoses and repairs complex control systems malfunctions requiring extensive knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital controls systems and ability to test and write modifications in multiple languages of systems software.
  2. Consults with the customer through data gathered and site assessments.
  3. Provides field proposals for retrofits, upgrades and or enhancements to existing equipment.
  4. Assists sales by providing technical recommendations for sales leads.
  5. Manages assigned work to meet professional and efficient execution of time and customer satisfaction.
  6. Reports problems or changes to management immediately.
  7. Interfaces with branch manager, service manager, service project manager or subcontractors on projects to coordinate activities as required in an ethical and professional manner.
  8. Provides sketches of field changes and discrepancies for engineering corrections and drawings.
  9. May assist with job layouts and bid proposals.
  10. Communicates with customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
  11. Ensures high levels of customer satisfaction.
  12. Meets regularly with customer to become familiar with operating problems.
  13. Keeps customer informed on the nature of service provided, outstanding issues and recommends system enhancements, upgrades, and or replacement.
  14. Promotes the sale of add-on work.
  15. Adheres to all Johnson Controls and customer safety standards.
  16. Provides safety leadership and instruction to all control technicians in the branch.
  17. Provides safety awareness while working on site with Johnson Controls subcontractors.
  18. Trains the customer in control systems operations.
  19. Delivers manuals and documentation to the customer for training needs as required.
  20. Provides mentorship for certification of Controls Technicians and Service Technicians on complex building automation systems.
  21. Coaches, supports and trains mechanical workforce on non-complex, non-critical equipment.
  22. Compiles job documentation, such as certificate of completion, customer training form, training certificates and punch lists.
  23. Conducts extensive self-study (reading, research and practice) to improve and maintain technical proficiency in company's product lines.
  24. Completes certifications as required by the company.
  25. Other duties related to the installing, commissioning and servicing of building controls and facilities management systems and energy management systems, as assigned.
What we look for
  1. +10 experience in a technical field, including a minimum of three years specializing in Building Automation Systems (BAS) or a combination of Vocational School four-year program graduate and hands-on experience.
  2. Demonstrated ability to install and/or service electronic control systems and HVAC equipment.
  3. Effective communication skills to represent Johnson Controls on customer sites.
  4. Capable of comprehending and proficient in working with electrical schematics and single-line diagrams.
  5. Ability to produce quotations following successful troubleshooting, coupled with the skill to generate revenue for the branch through labor and materials contributions.
  6. Possesses the ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people.
  7. Demonstrate effective writing skills as well as understanding of programs and software applications.
  8. Knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems and other building subsystems.
  9. Ability to obtain Secret Security Clearance
