We are currently looking for an Environmental Specialist to join our team in one of our offices in Halifax, St-John’s or Fredericton’s office.

Main responsibilities
  1. Perform Phase I to IV Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs);
  2. Experience in completion of risk assessments, considered an asset;
  3. Coordinate field activities that include sampling of groundwater, soil, soil vapour, sediment, surface water;
  4. Perform oversight of excavation and drilling activities, on occasion;
  5. Implement and enforce health and safety plans on construction sites;
  6. Supervision of the activities of site personnel as well as those of subcontractors;
  7. Interact with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies;
  8. Project task coordination and ability to manage projects, procure subcontractor, implement/oversee field work, participate in risk assessment and remedial design efforts;
  9. Technical report writing and proposal development for submission to provincial and federal regulatory authorities;
  10. Manage small to medium size project as well as support Project Managers/Business Groups on various environmental and industrial projects;
  11. Lead internal project teams for multi-media assessments of complex sites;
  12. Possess strong project management, coordination and planning skills to meet client timelines and budget;
  13. Support the growth of the environmental practice in Eastern Canada.
Training and skills
  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Science or Engineering. . or . designation considered an asset.
  • 3- 5 years of environmental consulting experience in the North American marketplace.
  • Knowledge of Provincial guidelines and Regulations.
  • A comprehensive understanding and experience with Federal framework and/or FCSAP process would be a great asset.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed.
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Bilingual capabilities considered an asset.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and a personal vehicle.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize.
  • Available for variable hours.
  • Available to manage, coordinate and/or work on sites throughout the office province or outside the Province, on occasion.
