You are an electrical engineer, the investigative role could be exactly what you are looking for. The most important thing is your passion for the investigation. Take out your Sherlock Holmes outfit and come investigate with our team of engineering experts at CEP Forensic.

Essential Job Functions

  • Carryout or lead complex investigations to determine the root and cause of fire and explosion of all types.
  • Make site visits, record, and gather evidence.
  • Gather details regarding the background and circumstances surrounding the incident by taking photographs, videos, and interviewing individuals associated with the incident.
  • Prepare final investigation finding reports that may be in the form of a brief letter style or a detailed, illustrated report depending on the complexity of the case.
  • Provide technical advice to customers.
  • Provide expert testimony in the court when required.

Competencies Required for this Position

  • Curiosity and sense of initiative.
  • Good practical knowledge of electrical installations in buildings.
  • Skilled and interested in technical and manual work.
  • Excellent synthesis, analysis and problem solving skills.
  • Good technical writing skills.
  • Concern for efficiency, attention to detail, excellent common sense, excellent organization and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent command of French and English (oral and written).

Requirements

  • University degree in electrical engineering or in another relevant field.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience (e.g. design, problem resolution, investigation, maintenance, technical support).
