Production Manager

Position is accountable for production quality, correct process, safety, daily preventive maintenance by machines, cost control, efficiency, scheduling, and training for all operator and supervisor levels to assure constant improvement
and development. Works collaboratively with the Process Technician to make certain that all employees are properly trained in specific machine operations and required procedures.
Keys Tasks and Responsibilities
Planning to meet or exceed plant goals
Conducts daily production planning meetings
Determines workflow and staffing requirements for production
Planning of production schedule to meet customer demands
Planning of downtime for preventative maintenance
Defining team roles and responsibility
Strives to contain costs and reduce waste
Finds ways to conserve resources
Updates and enforces internal and corporate safety policies
Updates and enforces safe work practices
Supports plant wide problem solving
Chairman of JHSC
Attends corporate safety calls and meetings
Actively participate in the ISO committee
Organize safety requirement training from outside parties for all employees
Manage necessary certification training for all employees
Demonstrates awareness of and follows all food safety policies and procedures
Familiarity with and adherence to the Quality Management System (QMS)
Support Key Departmental objectives and our QMS
Skills and Attributes
Excellent leadership skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
Ability to enforce laws, rules and regulations.
Proficient in Excel and Word Microsoft applications
Able to find new methods and principles and ability to incorporate them into
existing practices as needed.
Experience Required
Completion of grade 12 or equivalent.
Post-secondary education in a related field an asset.
Minimum of 3 years Management or Supervisory experience in a production
environment.
High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability.
Strong technical math skills.
Basic statistical knowledge an asset.
Salary Range: $100-110k
