Introduction

Our client is seeking a Purchasing Manager to assess the company's procurement practices, develop purchasing policies, and execute strategies to regulate and minimize costs. The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for performing strategic procurement activities across various spending categories, sourcing equipment, goods and services, negotiating pricing on behalf of the company and overseeing the negotiation of contracts.

We are seeking a candidate with exceptional abilities in supplier relationship management and negotiation, as these skills are pivotal in securing cost-effective, high-quality procurement and effectively managing vendor relationships. Additionally, you will analyze market trends, forecast demand, and mitigate risks to optimize the procurement process. You will ensure that all necessary protocols and guidelines are followed. This role reports directly to the COO.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the process of sourcing and purchasing essential materials for a operations.
  • Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies.
  • Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand.
  • Researching raw materials suppliers and comparing costs.
  • Determine quantity and timing of deliveries.
  • Crafting purchase agreements and closing deals with optimal terms.
  • Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers.
  • Developing inventory controls to identify demand for new materials.
  • Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.
  • Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
  • Assess, manage, and mitigate risks.
  • Tracking and reporting key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation.
