About the Rigging Lead: Quality Allied Elevator is actively seeking to add two Riggers to move elevator material in and out of elevator machine rooms in operating buildings. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable and experienced with hoisting and rigging heavy equipment in hallways, stairwells and over rooftops. The Riggers must be able to work efficiently ensuring all health & safety rules and procedures as well as best work practices are always followed. As the Rigger you will be responsible for:
  • Participate in jobsite activities.
  • Conduct safety tailgate meetings & complete pre-work assessment.
  • Prepare jobsites, setting hoisting points, clearing pathways, protecting customer property, and ensuring safe work. practices are always followed.
  • Assist with traffic control and spotting for trucks and equipment.
  • Inspect equipment/tools and report any concerns or hazards to the Rigging Manager.
  • Effectively communicate with the team both in the field and in the office.
  • Safely operate equipment and use tools, such as drills, grinders and cut-off saws, as required.
  • Move and carry objects from one point to another as required.
  • Set up hoisting and rigging for lifting as needed.
  • Always wear the proper PPE (gloves, hearing protection, safety glasses or full-face guard if required). along with your regular PPE.
  • Work with and alongside other workers to complete projects with attention to detail to produce a quality product.
  • Conduct yourself in a courteous, professional, and mature manner.
  • Other duties as directed by the management team.
The successful candidate will have:
  • 2-5 years of hands-on experience with hoisting and rigging is an asset.
  • Valid Hoisting and Rigging Certificate by IHSA is an asset.
  • Stability and dependability – can commit to working Monday to Friday.
  • Strong work ethic – and ability/desire to complete manual work, including lifting.
  • Ability to take direction and follow safety procedures and policies.
  • Valid G Class Driver’s license – the ability to drive a 5-tin box truck.
  • Ability to learn procedures and to make safe decisions around rigging tasks.
  • Good oral communication skills – verbal communication is essential to safely and efficiently complete complex rigs.
  • Participate in mandatory training courses as required.
  • Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed.
  • Must be able to stand, lift 50 lbs., carry, bend, reach.
Working Conditions:
  • Monday to Friday: 7:00am to 3:30 pm (with occasional overtime).
  • Travel to various sites in the GTA will be required. Transportation will be provided.
  • Indoor and outdoor environments and various weather conditions.
  • Weekend and overtime work may be required.
What we offer:
  • $25/hour.
  • 40 hours a week
  • Benefits after successful completion of probationary period.
