Sony Electronics has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Marketing Communications Specialist to work out of our Toronto, Canada offices and play a key role in the marketing communications planning and execution for Sony's Home Entertainment and Personal Entertainment divisions.

This position is dynamic and fast paced and helps define the go-to-market strategy and execution for all advertising and promotional activities for the Home and Personal Entertainment divisions. This position will also brief the internal and external stakeholders including media, messaging, web, retail, CRM & design on direction, and work closely with these experts to ensure activities and programs are on strategy, meet timelines and deliver on the agreed upon performance goals. This role will also support the development and management of the Canadian media plans and Amazon digital marketing plans, building out the strategy based on Canada’s unique consumer trends and purchase habits.

Responsibilities

TheSenior Marketing Communications Specialist will demonstrate competency in setting communications strategy, defining go-to-market plans, and program performance reporting, including return on investment measures.

Critical to this role is the ability to formulate and present holistic marketing strategies, project manage various activities simultaneously, gather and maintain project briefs, drive cross-functional teams with clear direction, and measure post activation results.The role has a strong emphasis on retail communication and channel marketing and requires the ability to balance creative message development with technical retail execution.

Equally critical is the ability to learn the product market including target consumers, usage scenarios, competitive landscape, technologies and their benefit to the consumer as well as future market trends. This role works closely with cross-functional teams and the ability to thrive in an environment with different personality types is a must.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS degree is required or equivalent

  • Must have 1 to 3 years related experience

  • Attention to detail and ability to manage projects, including multiple supporting team members, on a tight timeline

  • Pro-active attitude focused on getting things done and meeting goals

  • Forward thinking, anticipating challenges and solving for them before they happen

  • Strong communication, presentation, and copy writing skills

  • Ability to understand product, the target consumer and the competitive market and craft unique multi-channel marketing strategies to reach them

  • Analytical mindset and the ability to crunch data to determine what worked, what didn’t and how we improve

  • Experience managing retail, CRM, digital, PR, media/advertising and social projects

  • Skills include competency in PowerPoint, Excel and Word

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $58,000 to $97,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for a bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package including healthcare benefits (medical, dental, and vision), paid medical leave after three months of employment, a 401k plan with matching company contributions, vacation time, education assistance, student loan assistance program, eighty hours of paid sick leave time annually, and up to twelve weeks paid parental leave after six months of employment.
