As a Renewables and T&D Associatein this entry-level to intermediate role, you’ll play a pivotal part in earlydevelopment of large-scale renewables, storage and T&D projects acrossOntario and Eastern Canada.

We’re seeking individuals who are ready to leverage their education,training, hard and soft skills, and prior industry experience to achieve theobjectives of this role. Your primary responsibility will be to work closelywith our Director – Power Markets-T&D to support and expand BBA’s renewableproject services. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute tothe growth and execution of our exciting market segment.

Your work in action:

As aRenewables and T&D Associate, your role involves handling early-stagedevelopment projects; conducting feasibility assessments, analyses and preliminarydesign; coordinating engineering; and contributing to ongoing design projectsrelated to renewable energy and T&D infrastructure.

Collaborationwith project managers, engineers and stakeholders is crucial for deliveringtop-notch engineering solutions that fulfill client requirements and advanceelectrification, grid modernization and renewable energy technologies.

Yourresponsibilities will include:

  • Conducting assessments and feasibility studies for renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, energy storage and other emerging technologies.
  • Performing analysis and holistic energy modelling to optimize system performance, energy production and cost-effectiveness.
  • Assisting in the development of preliminary designs and engineering plans for renewable energy installations and T&D infrastructure.
  • Coordinating with internal teams, clients, external partners and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with standards, regulations and project requirements.
  • Participating in site visits, inspections and project meetings to support project development and implementation.
  • Contributing to the preparation of technical reports, proposals and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
  • Staying abreast of industry trends, best practices and technological advancements in the renewable energy and T&D sectors.
  • Supporting project managers and senior engineers in project execution, budgeting, scheduling and quality control.

Overview of certifications and job requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Environmental, Energy Systems or a related field)
  • Over two years of experience in renewable energy, power markets, energy consulting or related engineering projects
  • Proficiency in engineering software/tools for modelling, simulation and analysis
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving capabilities
  • Effective communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills suitable for a diverse and collaborative environment
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements, codes and standards pertinent to renewable energy and T&D projects
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload and meet deadlines in a dynamic work setting
  • Dedication to sustainability, innovation and continuous professional development within the energy sector
  • Willingness to travel domestically, as needed
  • Asset: Master’s degree in engineering with a focus on energy systems, sustainable energy or energy data sciences
  • Asset: Bilingual proficiency (English and French)
