The opportunity:

Reporting to the Vice President - IT, the Front-End Web Developer’s primary role is to develop and maintain web applications that drive our company's online presence. You will work closely with both our IT and Marketing teams to create, maintain, and update online content. In order for you to succeed in this role, you will need to be proficient in frontend development techniques, have solid knowledge and experience in programming applications, and be proficient in working with backend databases. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Creating web applications and components from the requirements stage through design and production deployment;
  • Collaborating with team members to develop and deploy content within established timeframes;
  • Researching and implementing new software programs and maintaining documentation;
  • Implementing contingency plans and troubleshooting issues to ensure website uptime;
  • Monitoring website traffic and staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends.

Qualifications include:

  • Degree or diploma in Web Development or related field, or equivalent relevant experience;
  • Thorough functional knowledge and coding experience with 3+ years of experience working as a Front-End Web Developer;
  • Excellent time management and problem solving skills with an analytical approach to work;
  • Demonstrated success in delivering high-quality projects on time on in budget, even when juggling multiple concurrent tasks and tight deadlines;
  • Experience working with WordPress;
  • Basic knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) principles;
  • Passion for learning and staying current with the latest software, trends, and technologies;
  • Additional marketing or creative skills considered an asset.
