Software Development Engineer in Test II

Partner with the bestIn this role, you will develop automation for database solutions in our compute infrastructure. As a Software Development Engineer in Test II, you will be responsible for:
- Working with engineering teams to identify how to test proposed DB architecture and configuration changes.
- Developing and maintain automated test frameworks for database changes, including unit tests, integration tests, end-to-end tests, performance and chaos tests.
- Maintaining, patching and upgrade database servers (MySQL).
- Writing and maintaining scripts to automate database deployments, migrations and rollbacks.
- Investigating and troubleshooting database-related issues, identifying root causes and providing recommendations for solutions.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Demonstrate experience writing code in at least one object-oriented programming language.
- Have an excellent understanding of SQL query, schema design, normalization and lock contention strategies.
- Have experience with performance testing tools (e.g. Sysbench) and chaos testing tools (e.g. Chaos Mesh).
- Have experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Jenkins and SaltStack.
- Have experience with Docker.
- Have good Linux fundamentals, especially around performance tuning.
- Be familiar with REST API interfaces and service-oriented architecture.
- Have solid network fundamentals (HTTP, TLS, TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, etc.).
