Russel Metals Inc. is currently seeking an individual for the position of Truck Driver in our Saint John, NB location.
Please note - our work environment is safety sensitive and will require the successful applicant to undergo a pre-employment medical and drug evaluation.
Position:
As a delivery driver, you will be responsible for the transportation and delivery of metal products and the compliant operation of a company vehicle to meet customer delivery deadlines while performing all tasks safely.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough and effective pre-trip inspections of vehicle and material on board
- Properly secure materials to ensure materials are safely transported and in compliance of the National Safety Code
- Operate the vehicle safely and in compliance with commercial vehicle regulations
- Maintain records and E-Logs as prescribed by the commercial vehicle regulations and Company policy
- Operate company issued electronic and/or communication equipment professionally and respectfully
- Maintain professional interactions with customers
- Complete work assignments in keeping with customer requirements and deadlines
- Coordinate with Transportation/Shipping department to advise of any delays or concerns about deliveries
Education and Skills Required:
- Valid Class 1 Drivers License with airbrake endorsement. Manual Transmission.
- Driver abstract
- Flexibility of work hours
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Undergo pre-employment medical screening
- Experience transporting steel is considered an asset
