Senior Civil Field Inspector - Job DescriptionMust-Haves:10+ years of experience in civil construction, focusing on land development and municipal infrastructure projects.Registration or eligibility for registration as a Technician / Technologist with ASTTBC or equivalent professional body.Familiarity with local municipal construction standards, specifications, and compliance requirements.Proven ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with team members, clients, municipal staff, contractors, and the public.A proactive, positive attitude with strong problem-solving skills.Valid provincial driver’s license with a clean driving record.Nice-to-Haves:Experience with CCDC Stipulated Price or Unit Price Contracts.Experience providing mentorship or guidance to junior inspectors.Previous involvement in construction administration and contract dispute resolution.Responsibilities:Conduct thorough field inspections to ensure compliance with engineering designs, local municipal standards, and best practices.Prepare detailed field review reports, including daily, weekly, and monthly inspection reports.Liaise effectively with clients, municipal staff, contractors, and the general public to maintain strong working relationships.Prepare monthly progress payments and manage Letter of Credit reductions.Attend and contribute to meetings with clients, contractors, and municipal staff, documenting discussions and outcomes.Understand and interpret the scope of work as outlined in engineering drawings.Respond timely to inquiries and issues to ensure the smooth completion of projects.Review as-constructed drawings for accuracy and completeness.Provide specialized inspection services on complex projects, acting as a key resource within the Construction Services Department.
