Overview

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will report directly to the co-CEO and work closely with the executive team. The CFO will oversee all financial aspects of the business, provide strategic financial leadership, manage financial planning and analysis, optimize capital structure, and drive profitability while maintaining a strong focus on supporting our growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Strategy and Planning

  1. Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies aligned with the company's growth objectives.
  2. Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes to provide stakeholders with timely and accurate financial information.
  3. Evaluate and advise on the financial impact of long-term planning, introduction of new programs/strategies, and regulatory action.

Capital Management and Financing

  1. Optimize the company's capital structure and manage capital allocation to support growth initiatives.
  2. Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed.
  3. Evaluate financing options and manage relationships with banks and financial institutions.

Financial Operations and Risk Management

  1. Work with the controller to assist in their delivery of the accounting functions, including financial reporting, treasury, tax, and audit.
  2. Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  3. Assess and manage financial risks and opportunities; make recommendations to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.

Strategic Leadership and Decision Support

  1. Provide leadership & coaching to enhance the professional development of the key accounting and finance leaders.
  2. Provide strategic financial insights and guidance to the Co-CEO's and executive team.
  3. Drive financial analysis and modelling to support key business decisions and initiatives.
  4. Collaborate with other departments to evaluate the financial impact of operational strategies and investments.
  5. Support our investors through effective investor communications.

Compliance and Governance

  1. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and financial reporting standards.
  2. Maintain strong governance practices and ethical standards across the organization.

Qualifications

  1. Proven experience as a CFO, VP of Finance, or equivalent role in a high-growth environment, preferably within the food manufacturing or consumer goods industry.
  2. Strong understanding of financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
  3. Demonstrated leadership and management skills, with the ability to build and lead a high-performing finance team.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  5. Strategic thinker with a track record of driving results and influencing decision-making at the executive level.
  6. CPA or MBA preferred.
  7. Knowledge of ERP systems and advanced financial software tools.
