Job Description:

Reporting to the Director of Projects and working with the Lynn Lake Project Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the successful delivery of the Lynn Lake Gold Project. This project is currently in the Engineering Phase of Development, with Early Works commencing in 2024. The Project Field Engineer will be involved with engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of all on-site civil and process facilities associated with the Lynn Lake Gold Project. We are looking for a leader who can coordinate and collaborate with our partners, stay ahead of regulatory commitments, respond to contractor engineering queries, provide technical support to the procurement processes and provide technical support during construction. This role will initially be remote with monthly travel required to site or our engineer’s office in Markham, Ontario. Once site construction starts, this role will be based in Lynn Lake, Manitoba and will work a 15/13 rotational schedule. Travel from your home to site, and room and board will be provided at the Company's expense.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure that the engineering work is completed and adequately reviewed by relevant stakeholders in line with the project budget and schedule;
  2. Ensure that the engineering design is safe and fit for purpose;
  3. Assist in the development of comprehensive, clear, specific scopes of work and other relevant procurement documents;
  4. Participation in the development of requests for proposals of equipment/materials and contractors and assist with contractor selection;
  5. Work closely with the Alamos construction team and contractors to ensure requests for information (RFIs) are quickly addressed and closed;
  6. Work closely with consultants and contractors to resolve and/or mitigate design and constructability issues.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline (mechanical or civil preferred) or Construction Management;
  • Technical diploma with extensive experience is an acceptable substitute to a bachelor’s degree;
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive engineering, project management and construction experience in the mining industry, preferably related to mine infrastructure and processing plants;
  • The individual should have demonstrated leadership ability, a high level of energy, self-motivation, and strong organizational skills;
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced work environment;
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with site and corporate personnel;
  • Computer skills with the ability to use integrated management systems, word processing, presentation, scheduling and spreadsheet applications.
