Aversan Inc. (www.aversan.com ) is a reputable Engineering Company that provides expertise in Systems Integration, Product Design/Development and Software/Product Testing for highly regulated industries including Aerospace, Digital Health, Medical Devices, Nuclear and IT.
We are currently seeking a qualified Senior Software DevOps Engineer for a 6-month (Possibility of extension) contract in Ottawa, Ontario. The candidate will be responsible for designing, installing, integrating & maintaining various environments. Provide 2nd and 3rd line support to various projects regarding IS/IT matters and manage various cloud / hybrid infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform installation and integration of new applications (on-premise and Cloud)
  • Implement automation deployment and management process when applicable (infrastructure as code)
  • Provide end-user support for application level requests for various projects
  • Deliver cloud-based solutions aligned with the workload , scalability, performance and provisioning requirements
  • Ensure PM’s and SME’s are made aware of all issues, risks and concerns in a timely manner
  • Implement methodologies to integrate various software components including commercial software to produce a stable baseline upon which, all other software can be placed for repeatable testing
  • Implementation and execution of system performance test cases
  • Clarify requirements with various stakeholders and recommend solutions, improvements about architecture implementation and design of environments
  • Design, implement and manage Microsoft Active Directory (AD) and Azure Active Directory (AAD) environments
  • Plan, design, deploy, test and troubleshoot of physical and virtual server environments and workstations
  • Identify and recommend improvements regarding Compute / Storage and Network resource (Cloud and on-premise)
  • Produce supporting documentation as required such as network / system design, installation support document, etc.
  • Perform incident resolution, problem determination and root cause analysis in accordance with Service Level Agreements
  • As applicable, analyze, investigate, document and report on information security issues
  • Mentor less experienced staff members or interns

Requirements:
  • A minimum of 10 years supporting DevOps environment and software testing.
  • Excellent knowledge of Active Directory, Azure Active Directory (AAD), Windows Servers, Ubuntu, Kubernetes cluster, Cloud deployments
  • Good knowledge Server hardware & virtualization – VMware vCenter,
  • Master's or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Tech or related discipline from a recognized university

Qualifications
  • Experience as Windows server admin, SharePoint system admin
  • Execute verification, regression and qualification tests of software release
  • Experience in implementation of security and data protection in various environments
  • Experience using and troubler shooting latest Windows and Linux Server/client versions
  • Very good understanding of IS/IT infrastructure (networking, security, hardware, etc.)
  • Monitoring and controlling network security and integrity within guidelines to ensure compliance
  • Managing and maintaining network devices such as firewalls, routers and switches
  • Follow standard project management methodology including project plans, issue tracking, updates to management, system testing and project monitoring
  • Knowledge of various scripting languages
