Moose Factory, Canada Moose Cree First Nation Full time

Under the general supervision of the Lead, Residential School Survivor’s Initiative, the Community Coordinator is responsible for supporting the program plans and activities developed by the Kaki šâpoškenânaw Survivors Circle (Survivors Circle) while ensuring the Survivors’ safety, well-being, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Post-Secondary Education in the social services or administration field.
  • Knowledge about the history of residential schools and its impacts on people, families, and communities
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Must be a listener to support a survivor-driven pathway, a problem solver, focused on quality to provide the best experience throughout the Residential School Survivors Initiative.
  • Ability to ensure and respect Survivors’ safety, well-being, privacy, and confidentiality at all activities and events
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality related to administrative functions.
  • Good organizational and time management skills, including the ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Good working knowledge of computer programs, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience working with Graphic Design programs is an asset.
  • Work experience in minute taking or willingness to take training.
  • Must be able to work after hours and on weekends to support programs and activities.
  • Willing to travel with the Survivors Circle when required.
  • Ability to communicate in Cree is an asset.
  • Class “G” driver’s license is required.
  • Must submit a recent satisfactory C.P.I.C. or proof of application.
  • A copy of the degree/diploma/certification is to be submitted with a resume.

Duration: Permanent with 3 months probation
