What will your role be?

Reporting to the Installation Manager, theSheet Metal / Metal Fabricator / Welder Journeyperson or Apprenticewill work in collaboration with the Halifax installation team:

Responsibilities:

  • Assess job site and set up equipment prior to commencing work
  • Follow safety protocol and comply with safety and occupational standards
  • Install ducting & equipment as per diagrams and direction from the Supervisor
  • Carry out HVAC installation, which includes ducting, fasteners on hangers and ducts and insulation;
  • Anchor and hook-up HVAC machinery such as air handling units, fans, chillers, ventilation equipment
  • Measure, cut, grind, fit, align and tack weld parts
  • Using the design drawings, measure and layout metal plate and tubing during the installation process.
  • Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures
  • Layout construct patterns and templates
  • Read, interpret, plan and execute from drawings, blueprints and procedures

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and a Canadian Government Security clearance.

Perk on the job:

  • Relocation Bonus: up to $4000
  • Sheet Metal Salary: $24.38 – $42.00 per hour
  • Metal Fabricator Salary: $26.47-$37.32 per hour
  • Welder Salary: $24.38-$37.32 per hour

Which candidate profile are we looking for?

  • Holds a valid Red Seal accreditation (preferred) or is a registered Apprentice level 3 or 4.
  • Comfortable working in tight spaces and at heights.
  • Good work quality and ability to work steadily to meet project timelines.
  • Good physical dexterity to work in tight or awkward locations.
  • No criminal record, must be able to meet security clearance requirements.
