Teck Highland Valley Copper is currently accepting applications for the position of: Journeyperson HVAC Refrigeration Mechanic.

Come join us in the Highland Valley and enjoy a variety of recreational opportunities, such as hiking, skiing, fishing, and golf The mine site is a 50-minute drive from Kamloops, B.C. which provides all of the comforts of city living. We are also close to Merritt, Ashcroft, and Logan Lake, which all exude a small town community atmosphere.

Responsibilities:
  1. Be a Courageous Safety Leader, through promotion and adherence to established Safety and Environmental policies and procedure
  2. Maintenance of gas fired heating and process systems, air conditioning and refrigeration systems, steam boiler, water boilers and building management control
  3. Perform in a team-orientated environment with various trades
  4. Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environment
Qualifications:
  1. Red Seal Refrigeration Mechanic
  2. B.C. Class ‘A’ Gasfitter ticket, or Alberta Class 'A' Gasfitter ticket, or equivalent if from other provinces
  3. Minimum of a valid Class 7N driver’s license
  4. Familiarity with Reliable DDC controls would be an asset
  5. 4th Class power Engineering Certificate would be an asset
  6. High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED), or equivalent
  7. Strong interpersonal skills
  8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
