Senior Engine Software Developer

Fortinet seeking a talented Software Developer to join our Fortiguard team in Burnaby.  This individual will be working on our vulnerability patch management engine.  The work will consist of C/C++ development to facilitate streamlined patching of remote endpoints.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in C/C++, Windows development, and how software package installation works within Windows.  As this job will be within the Fortiguard Labs, an interest in computer security is highly desired.

Responsibilities:

- Fix bugs in existing code

- Collaborate with team members to integrate product functionality

- Design, develop, and test new features for the patch management engine

Required Qualifications:

- Proficient in C/C++ with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming

- Minimum 4 years' working experience with C/C++ language

- Understanding of patch management

- Experience with Windows programming

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Nice to have:

- Experience with Lua

- Experience with Rust

- Experience with Python

- Knowledge of network security practices

Educational qualifications:

- BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
