Job Description

Mission: Within the framework of the STMO, its mission will be to carry out the stress analyses, the sizing and the re-engineering of the parts, while ensuring that their mass and cost are minimized. they will also have to carry out the related activities, such as the certification and justification files, which are attached to it for a given aircraft scope, according to the objectives and deadlines set and in compliance with customer requirements and certification requirements. The work of the calculator will be as much at the level of the primary structure as the support systems.

Main Responsibilities

  • Study design to cost proposals and justify the structure accordingly
  • Apply load increases to existing structures and justify increased loads through re-analysis mitigation.
  • Write the summaries of the analyzes and the various stress and certification reports, and keep them up to date.
  • Receive the designers' input data as well as the client's methods and tools and carry out the justification studies for the parts from the pre-dimensioning stage to the establishment of the justification and certification files.
  • Apply loads to part designs received from designers and work with them to find a solution in the event that the designs are not able to support the loads.
  • Generate the finite element models necessary for the justification of the parts.

Profile of the STMO

  • Academic training: hold a bachelor's degree in mechanical or aeronautical engineering.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of cumulative experience in primary metal structure calculation is required.

Specific Requirements

  • Have experience in calculation (Statics and Fatigue, Discrete Source Damage, DTA) of primary and secondary structure. (Asset if additional experience in systems analysis.)
  • Have a good knowledge of the resistance of materials
  • Know the aeronautical certification standards
  • Have a very good command of Patran/Nastran/Hypermesh and the Office suite, in particular Excel VBA
  • Have a good command of CATIA V5/Enovia
  • Experience working on the Airbus A220 or Global 7500 product line
