As a Retirement Team Leader, you will manage plan compliance and deliver outstanding operations service to a broad range of Canada employee and retiree groups delivering support in the key areas of retirement. You will work in an operations environment that strives to deliver consistent, streamlined and user-friendly experiences.

You will report to the US and Canada (USCA) People Operations Benefits Leader.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the management of the retirement benefits administration by reviewing PPG initiatives with the vendor and implementing streamlined and user-friendly processes.

  • Manage all day-to-day operations responsibilities including reporting, analysis, reconciliations, compliance-related mailings, notices and data processing.

  • Support the implementation and execution of all plan offerings and plan design changes in partnership with Strategy.

  • Be the Canada lead for inquiries related to retirement benefits.

  • Manage plan compliance by monitoring the Canada retirement processing with the vendor and internal parties.

  • Coordinate the preparation and filing of the plan’s annual financial reports and develop financial reports and analyses for internal use.

  • Maintain the Sun Life retirement and group benefits portal content in partnership with Strategy.

  • Serve as the key contact for Sun Life retirement administration, including process flows, events processing, payroll/eligibility file issues.

  • Support vendor relationships by reviewing SLAs and metrics, performing ongoing audits, reporting trends to Strategy, maintaining accurate participant eligibility and participating in calls as needed.

  • Ensure vendor files are fully operational; partner with necessary parties (HRIT) and lead troubleshooting efforts.

  • Develop and maintain complete and accurate Standard Operating Procedures documents for all processes utilized within the retirement team.

  • Prepare data and materials for Pension Committee meetings.

  • Assist in the development of communication materials and tools to enhance understanding of the PPG’s benefits package.

  • Evaluate and revise internal processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency.

  • Support the review of all PPG communications and offer recommendations based on retirement knowledge as well as the overall employee experience.

  • Deliver presentations and partner on M&A/divestitures by building and executing implementation of the PPG retirement benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field required.

  • 5+ years’ experience working with the administration of benefit plans, particularly with a company similar in size to PPG.

  • Strong communication skills written and verbal.

  • Enthusiasm, positivity, initiative and pride in work.
