Fort Garry Industries has an exciting opportunity for a Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team at our Thunder Bay branch.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Repair and replace hydraulic pumps, safety valves, and any other necessary mechanical components
- Perform incidental welding operations on steel and/or aluminum equipment
- Diagnose defects in heavy duty equipment and perform required mechanical repairs
- Perform repairs & preventative maintenance services on heavy/medium trucks and trailers
- Diagnose & troubleshoot mechanical & electrical failures
- Ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
- Perform shop cleaning & any other required tasks.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 2nd or 3rd year apprentice required.
- 2-3 years of experience performing service repairs preferred
- Proficient and demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, schematics, diagnostics, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of heavy-duty trucks or trailers
- Install experience for plow, sanders, dump boxes etc. as asset
- Proficient oral and written communication skills
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. on a regular basis
