Job SummaryAs a Mechanical Technician for our Buildings and Facilities department in our site located in the city of Sherbrooke (QC), you will be responsible to ensure proper operations, maintenance, inspections for all installed equipment and services in relation to building HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditionning).
In this role, key responsibilities include:
- Respond to service calls and assist external contractors.
- Operate the BAS (building automated systems) of the building "Metasys" and others.
- Ensure that controlled environmental conditions, validated and non-validated (temperature, relative humidity, differential pressure, air change), follow the required set points. Take differential pressure readings.
- Assist and collaborate with Stationary Engine Mechanics.
- Diagnose control (low voltage) and mechanical problems.
- Perform certain preventive/corrective maintenance as well as calibration to equipment.
- Checking sensors and alarms in critical rooms and spaces.
We are looking for the following minimum qualifications for this role:
- DEC in Building Systems Technology with minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position.
- Must be able to travel to site within 30 minutes.
- Knowledge of industrial ventilation systems.
- Experience of computer-aided maintenance management system (MAXIMO an asset).
- Bilingual French/English is an asset.
- Must have the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and be able to climb a step ladder or ladder.
Please note that upon being hired, you will have to undergo an annual tuberculosis test at the expense of the company.
Role Specific Information:
- Location: 1580 Ida-Métivier, Sherbrooke, Qc, J1E 0B5. Easily accessible using Sherbrooke’s public transit system. Free parking. Electric vehicle charging station.
- Pay: To be discussed.
- Schedule: Full time, permanent position (37.5 hours/week). Depending on the needs, you may have to do overtime, On call every 2nd week including the weekend. Weekend shift premium ($2.75/hour).

About Safety Assessment
Charles River is committed to helping our partners expedite their preclinical drug development with exceptional safety assessment services, state-of-the-art facilities and expert regulatory guidance.
