The successful candidate will function as a technical cybersecurity professional, serving as the primary security point of contact for one or more enterprise clients. As a key member of the service delivery team, the Cybersecurity Advisor collaborates with clients and internal technical teams to ensure the fulfillment of security requirements and the continual evolution of the security roadmap with the client.

The ideal candidate brings experience in direct client interaction, possesses a profound understanding of enterprise-level infrastructure, and can coordinate technical experts from diverse teams. The Security Advisor is a proactive self-starter who excels with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment.

Your Future Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to a large enterprise-level client.
  • Act as the primary contact for the vulnerability management program.
  • Support clients and teams with security audit requests.
  • Assist clients in creating security risk assessments.
  • Develop a comprehensive operational understanding of the client's environment, security services, and security requirements, including the operation of each business service and the implementation of security services across the infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with teams developing client solutions to ensure alignment with client security policies and standards. Work effectively with all teams involved in service delivery, possessing a solid knowledge base of infrastructure configuration relevant to security components (e.g., Firewall, VPN, IDS/IPS, WAF, security zones, MFA, SIEM).
  • Provide security advice and guidance to the client.
  • Analyze monthly vulnerability assessment reports and take necessary actions to ensure regular remediation of vulnerabilities as defined by the client.
  • Validate baseline security configurations for the network and systems as required.
  • Assist the Cybersecurity Operations team, as required, with investigation and remediation activities for security incidents in accordance with the Incident Management process.
  • Due to the nature of the role, occasional after-hours work may be necessary.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for success in this role:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of directly related IT experience, with at least three (3) years of cybersecurity experience. (Relevant post-secondary education would be an asset.)
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills and experience in effective communication with clients, vendors, and colleagues.
  • Experience presenting technical information to clients, elucidating how it meets their needs while ensuring a balance with security.
  • Understanding of CIS benchmarks for infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with security policies, procedures, and meeting audit/compliance requirements.
  • Teamwork skills for cross-group collaboration.
  • Working knowledge of various network and security technologies, including but not limited to Intrusion Prevention/Detection, File Integrity Monitoring, Firewall, VPN, Securing Routers/Switch, Vulnerability Management, Patch Management, Log Management, End Point Security, and Strong Authentication.
  • Analytical skills and the ability to comprehend complexities and interconnections between components.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to produce clear and concise security documentation.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Excellent time-management skills and the ability to prioritize workload.
  • Capability to manage aggressive timelines and associated pressures.
  • Proficiency in speaking and writing clearly in fluent English.
  • Ability to obtain a Government of Canada security clearance of Enhanced Reliability.
