The Team
At the Correspondence Unit (CU), you'll be part of a supportive and close-knit team dedicated to managing the flow of communication for the Minister and Deputy Minister. We work together to handle over 50,000 pieces of correspondence each year, building strong connections across the ministry as we craft thoughtful responses. The Role
In this dynamic role, you'll handle a range of responsibilities from drafting and editing to technical support, while helping provide helpful information to the public. You'll work with experienced communications professionals, learn about the ministry, and build strong connections across government. Qualifications:

  • Education and Training
    • Post-secondary education in English, Business English, journalism, communications or professional writing; OR
    • Four (4) years or more of professional writing, copyediting and proofreading experience or experience working in a communications-related field; OR
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience in public relations, communications, mediation or issues management.
  • Experience liaising with and maintaining effective working relationships with senior officials and their staff (for example, Ministers’ offices, the Premier’s office, CEO, President).
  • Experience reviewing the work of colleagues and subordinates.
  • Experience copy editing and proofing.
  • Experience researching and analyzing information.

Preference may be given to candidates with one or more of the following:

  • More than one (1) year of experience using the CLIFF Tracking System (experience with reporting is an asset).
  • More than one (1) year of experience searching for and pulling records for Freedom of Information requests or Litigation Document Discovery requests.

About this Position:
