ISL’s Grande Prairie Office works on a diverse range of Transportation, Municipal, Community Development, and Structural engineering projects in collaboration with cross-discipline teams across the company. Your resume should show us:

  • A diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or Geomatics Engineering Technology or similar
  • Relevant work experience which should include performing construction inspections/observations, construction contract administration, and/or construction survey
  • Drafting experience with working knowledge of Civil 3D and/or AutoCAD
  • Construction industry experience

A Little More About the Role

We are looking for someone with a keen attention to detail and ability to complete quality control checks of their own and others’ work. You will require and must maintain a valid Class 5 Alberta Operator’s License.

Responsibilities:

Many of our projects are in and around the City of Grande Prairie or surrounding communities. However, we also work regionally and at times some overnight out-of-town work can be expected. During the busy construction season, some weekend and overtime work can be expected. While there is not a “typical day” some of what you can expect while performing this role include:

  • Onsite construction survey, construction observations, contract administration, and documentation
  • Collaboration on projects both locally with clients as well as across ISL disciplines and offices
  • Utilize CAD and survey software, design drawings, and other tools and techniques to obtain stake-out points and alignments for construction activities, perform quantity take-offs, and ensure constructed infrastructure adheres to the design
  • Assist with preliminary and detailed design drafting duties and prepare record drawings
  • Complete required safety planning tasks and paperwork and adhere to safe work practices

  • Ability to analyze information and to perceive pertinent detail in objects and drawings

  • Willingness to learn new and emerging technologies related to the role

  • Passion for the Civil Engineering industry
  • A methodical approach to your work with an attention to detail and quality
