Senior Python/Java Developer – Web Engineering

Web engineering team is looking for a strong Java/Python developer to build web hosting platform. The candidate should have strong technical abilities and interpersonal skills to work with teams across divisions and geographies. The candidate will explore new frontiers in cloud-based web platforms and implement solutions for diverse set of user requirements. The candidate will communicate and work with application owners across the firm regularly.

The candidate’s day-to-day responsibilities are:
1. Participate in Agile squads to design and develop firm’s web platform.
2. Learn and explore technical landscape of cloud-based application platforms.
3. Collaborate with squads across divisions to implement and deliver technical solutions.
4. Work with application community to adopt best practices for designing cloud native web applications.

Minimum qualifications :
1. Strong programming skills in Python and shell scripting.
2. Experience troubleshooting and debugging production systems and code.
3. Experience with HTTPS/HTTP, SSL/TLS and REST API.
4. Knowledge of network like TCP/IP, SSH, DNS, Routing, etc.
5. Experience developing and deploying applications with Apache and Tomcat containers.
6. Strong communication skills to write documents, communicate and collaborate with geographically spread team members.

Desired qualifications:
1. Experience of building and deploying distributed and multi-tenant systems on public and on-prem cloud.
2. Knowledge of database technologies; RDMS and NoSQL.
3. Experience in Kubernetes, Docker, OAUTH/OIDC
4. Strong experience Java and Perl is definitely an asset.
