  1. BASIC FUNCTION
    - This role supports the systems team with cross-disciplinary solutions for an Endoscopy product.
    - Involves a mix of design/testing (40%) and technical writing/meetings/quality management system development (60%).
    - Preferably aimed at applicants in their 3rd or 4th year of a Biomedical, Electrical, Integrated, Mechatronics (or similar) program.
  2. RESPONSIBILITIES
    - Assist in designing various aspects of an Endoscopy product offering.
    - Evaluate design options and bench testing for optimal solutions within timelines.
    - Support prototyping and new product development.
    - Design and build test fixtures and jigs for verification and product testing.
    - Produce DHF documentation such as requirements, protocols, and test reports.
  3. GENERAL
    While working with a team of engineers and under senior supervision, the co-op will engage in activities like:
    - Quality Management System DHF/DMR development on new and existing products.
    - Participate in front-end conceptual design and engineering activities on new products.
    - Product and component testing for performance improvement.
    - Design of test setups and testing conditions.
    - Contribute to project planning and respect team decisions.
  4. QUALIFICATIONS
    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
    - Sedentary work involving sitting most of the time.
    - Must be able to communicate effectively and review printed materials.
    MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
    - Self-managed, self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills.
    - Must demonstrate creative thinking and attention to detail.
    - Ability to troubleshoot designs and provide constructive feedback.
    SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
    - Self-managed and self-motivated work ethic.
    - Hands-on problem-solving skills and fluency in MS Office applications.
    - Experience in CAD modeling software, programming, and SDLC basics.
    - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED
    - Enrolled in an engineering program, preferably 3rd or 4th year.
    - Available for an 8-month co-op term at minimum.
